Yearbook
It’s been an outstanding year for the Foundation with many milestones in our grantmaking, fundraising and development activity
We would like to acknowledge the ever-growing number of people and organisations that are choosing to work with the Foundation. These donors share the Foundation’s vision of bringing communities together and making them stronger. It’s their funds that have enabled the organisation – which is still only in its twelfth year –to become the fourth largest independent grantmaker in the country by distributing over £3 million each year.
Over the last 12 months, the grantmaking programme also grew. For the first time, the Foundation made larger awards of £50,000 available to community groups and charities. Eight were awarded as part of our Community Investment Programme in three key areas of community development.
Fundraising through the Caledonian Challenge continues to go from strength to strength. Despite more and more competition from other charity-endurance events, the Caledonian Challenge remains the biggest and most successful, raising over £1 million in 2007.
The Foundation continues to develop new relationships with donors throughout the UK, and to bring together people and organisations committed to Scotland. Among these are a commitment from the Moidart Trust to distribute £1 million in the north and north-west of the country. It’s results like this that continue to make the Foundation an outstanding success and allow us to distribute record amounts in grants year-on-year.
