Sky - Make a Difference Champions
BSkyB appointed MAD (Make a Difference) Champions at each of their sites in Uddingston, Livingston and Dunfermline. The Champions make up the charity committee in each place. The people who get involved are committed to their communities, volunteering and helping BSkyB uphold their corporate social responsibility commitments. The Champions were finding that they spent a great deal of time holding meetings, dealing with paperwork and committee business instead of making decisions and being active in the community.
They appointed the Scottish Community Foundation to help make the process better. We are able to work with their UK wide CSR function and systems, deal with all administration and process grants on their behalf. We have also delivered a series of training sessions for the Champions to help them develop their committee roles and understand the grant making process. By building skills and capacity, the committees are now confident grant makers who have put BSkyB at the heart of local activity.
