Drumderg: Kirkmichael House
Clare Roger, Kirkmichael Session House
The fund is a tremendous asset to the whole of the local community and will make a big difference to the aspirations of community groups. We are really grateful to everyone involved in the Drumderg Fund for their support, and we look forward to further successful partnerships in the future.
Our first application to the fund was for money to replace our faulty computers in our Open Learning Centre. We also received funding for a projector and screen, which are now used for talks given at our centre, and for use in the community generally. We no longer have to drive 15 miles to our local community education centre each time we need a projector.
We were among the first applicants to the Drumderg Fund. The process of applying for a grant was relatively easy. The application form was thorough, but easy to both understand and complete. Margaret - a senior grants officer at the Foundation - helped to draw out more information about our grant application, how our charity operated and why we needed the support of the fund to achieve our aims.
The whole procedure was so painless that we applied for a second grant for art courses to be run at the Session House.
