Costs
As a charity, our fees are based on the time it takes to create and manage a community benefit fund programme. Normally, our fees are met by developers, and our services are provided as an additional resource to communities affected by developments.
Creating a Programme
Depending on the level of work already undertaken with or by communities affected, we may be asked to research community needs and solicit the views of local people and wider stakeholders (i.e. those of the local authority, community groups and service providers, and voluntary agencies). This can take the form of public meetings and drop-in sessions. Findings will be collated in a community profile for the area, and/or appointment of an openly elected advisory panel to distribute funding.
This background work is usually charged on our daily rate, capped at a pre-agreed number of days.
Managing a Programme
Communities that have reached a consensus about how funds are to be used may simply look to us for a governance and management service. As an alternative to establishing a charitable trust, we offer a compatible governance structure where funds are legally ring-fenced into a named charitable fund. If required, we can provide a grant distribution service where we work closely with a local grant-making committee and invite, assess and report on applications, and arrange and monitor approved payments.
Ongoing programme management can vary in complexity, however this is normally charged at percentage of an annual fund value.
Once you have told us about your ideas and plans for your community benefit fund, we will be able to provide an accurate quote for supporting your company/community in establishing and managing a community benefit grants programme.
