Helping you give
The Scottish Community Foundation works with people and organisations, helping them make gifts to charity in a cost-effective and simple way. We offer:
- A charity chequebook account which donors can use to give tax-efficiently to good causes of their choosing both in the UK and internationally. Standing order payments can also be set up from the account.
- The ability to set up an SCF Charitable Trust, an alternative to establishing an independently registered charitable trust which normally involves a solicitor or accountant. With no set up charges, an SCF Charitable Trust is considerably less expensive and burdensome to operate and clients can continue to receive expert advice from their professional advisers.
- A donor-charity matchmaking service, where SCF can find, research and analyse charities which meet a donor's philanthropic interests. Our unique expertise is finding outstanding projects for clients to support, analysing the likely impact of any donation, and reporting on the outcome of any donation that is made.
Since 1996 the Scottish Community Foundation has distributed more than £18 million in grants, and we are now one of the largest funders of the voluntary sector in Scotland. Our knowledge of the not-for-profit sector is second to none, and is recognised by the Lottery, Scottish Government and Comic Relief, all of whom have commissioned us to distribute money on their behalf.
