SCF Charity Account
An SCF Charity Account is a simple and tax-efficient way to give to charity.
You can deposit cash or shares into your SCF Charity Account and then use an SCF Charity Chequebook and Debit Card to donate to any recognised charity based in the UK or overseas. You can also set up regular payments to your favourite charities from your account.
Why Use An SCF Charity Account?
- It lets you keep track of all your charitable donations, making it easier for higher rate tax payers to claim back personal tax on donations.
- You can set aside money when it suits you, and donate when you like to many causes as you wish
- SCF claims Gift Aid on eligible deposits into your account, boosting the amount you can donate by 25%. This also helps smaller charities without the resources to claim Gift Aid on the donations they receive.
An SCF Charity Account can be opened with a minimum deposit of £400 per annum (£33 per month). We deduct 4% on all donations you make, up to a maximum of £50 on any single donation, as a donation to SCF.
Tax Efficient Giving: An Example
A deposit of £400 by a higher rate tax payer, with Gift Aid, increases to £500. Keeping the receipt issued by SCF, the donor can claim a refund of £100 in personal tax. After SCF's donation, £480 is available for distribution, at a cost of £300 to the donor.
