Working with Charitable Trusts and Trustees

With the advent of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, an increasing number of charity trustees are facing difficulties when disbursing their charity’s funds in demonstrating to OSCR that they are adhering to their charitable purposes, are achieving public benefit and are meeting their own grant criteria.  The Scottish Community Foundation is uniquely placed to assist trustees experiencing such problems.

The majority of our work is with individuals, companies and charitable trusts who wish to support charities and community groups in specific geographical areas or wish to support particular user groups (such as children, the elderly etc.). By working with a large number of philanthropic individuals and organisations, the Foundation is able professionally and cost-effectively to distribute funds in accordance with their wishes to the most deserving organisations in Scotland. As a registered charity, all funds managed by the Foundation are compliant with OSCR and HMRC.

If you are a trustee of, or have a client who has, a charitable trust that struggles to award grants or where the administration costs are disproportionate, please contact us at to find out how we can work together.
