The Events Team is expanding and Alex joined as Operations Manager for the team in March 2007.

Alex spent almost 34 years in the Army (Black Watch) and has served all over the world in many different places and various positions, including such far flung places as the Falklands, Hong Kong and Iraq.  He even managed to fit in a three year tour of duty in Switzerland which, while not unique, is very unusual.

Alex has tried most sports in his time, but is now mostly found on a golf course outside of work.

Ali McKichan
Relationship Manager

Ali joined the RBS Caledonian Challenge in 2005 and was responsible for co-ordinating all the event photography and filming. Her role has now expanded and she now enjoys the title of Relationship Manager which she hopes does not mean that she is an agony aunt to all the walkers! She looks after all the teams, walkers, marshals and product sponsors for all our fundraising events.

Ali's background is in event management and marketing, mainly in the sports sector.  She worked for 8 years as assistant to a specialist marine photographer, following international yacht races around the globe. Having spent 9 months crewing on a round the world yacht race herself, she is well used to endurance events and while she has no wish to return to the Southern Ocean, she now dabbles in some gin & tonic cruising on her native west coast of Scotland.
