:the update

Welcome to The Update

THIS week I was delighted to attend an event at the House of Lords hosted by Angus Macdonald OBE, founder of the Foundation’s own Caledonian Challenge and the Moidart Trust. The Moidart Trust – administered by the Foundation - funds entrepreneurial activity in the north west of Scotland to create jobs, boost local economies and revitalise rural communities.

The event at the House of Lords gathered together likeminded philanthropists to consider the benefits of joint charitable investment in this area of Scotland. The Foundation has seen an increase in philanthropists wishing to work together to increase the benefit of their charitable investments. This combined philanthropy is an exciting prospect, particularly in these straitened economic times.

I look forward to updating you on the outcomes of the House of Lords event in future editions of :the update.
