Drumderg community page
Welcome to the Drumderg community page. Here you can find out how local groups have used their funding to improve the area.
Background
SSE is the owner and operator of the Drumderg Wind Farm. Its 32 wind turbines will generate £64,000 every year, for community projects in Aylth, Kirkmichael, Strathardle; Bridge of Cally and Blacklunans, Glenshee.
How the fund works
A local panel - made up of people who live and work in the Aylth and Mount Blair community council area - has been set-up to make decisions on how the fund should be spent. The panel have been selected for their knowledge of the area, and involvement with other community activities.
The panel receives guidance and support from the Scottish Community Foundation, an expert grant-maker in Scotland. The Foundation vets all applications to the fund, to make sure grants are awarded to the best projects.
