Allianz Community Fund

Background

Allianz Insurance plc is one of the largest insurers in Britain. The Allianz Community Fund is part of an initiative where the company works with a number of community foundations in key locations. The Allianz Glasgow office makes local decisions about local projects, ensuring their funds are directed to communities where the staff live and work.

Purpose

Grants will be awarded within the following key themes (listed in order of priority):

Crime reduction - supporting small locally based crime deduction projects and services which help reduce the impact of crime on the insurance industry, for example: drug prevention and fire awareness

Helping people to gain confidence and new skills - particularly, financial literacy and reading skills

Disadvantaged groups - projects which improve facilities and services for children, young people and adults with disabilities

Older People - projects which support or improve facilities for older people

Environmental - projects which conserve or improve biodiversity or which improve community access to and awareness of the environment.
