Elizabeth Drummond Fund

Background

The Elizabeth Drummond Trust was set up in the 19th century for broad educational purposes. By 2008, it had accrued considerable interest, and only had one trustee, a solicitor, who felt he was not in a position to identify suitable beneficiaries.

The Foundation offered a solution and approached OSCR for consent to wind up the Trust. While waiting for OSCR’s decision, the Foundation identified projects to be supported from the accumulated income to recommend to the trustee.

Purpose

Grants are made to voluntary organisations and charities promoting:

  • education
  • life long learning
  • personal and social development
  • skills training
