Women's Fund for Scotland
Background
The Women’s Fund for Scotland (WFS) is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls across Scotland.
The Women's Fund for Scotland raises money from individuals and organisations, which is then distributed through grants to charities and community groups working with and for women.
Since its launch in 2002, the fund has been supported with funding from the Scottish Government Equalities Unit and has awarded more than one million pounds in grants to over 600 projects, supporting the development, self-sufficiency, and economic and social equality of Scotland’s women.
Purpose
Grants between £2,000 and £5,000 are available to support projects that enable women to be better able to cope with the effects of the economic downturn and to make changes that enable them to turn their lives around, with a particular focus on increasing women’s employability. For examples of the types of activities the fund will consider, please download the Fact Sheet below.
