SSE Toddleburn Community Fund

Background
The fund is provided by SSE, the developer of the Toddleburn Wind Farm. It benefits the community council areas of Heriot, Oxton & Channelkirk and the Parish of Stow in the Scottish Borders.

The annual fund value will be approximately £54,000, which will be shared annually as follows:

Community council area Approximate annual share
Heriot £18,000
Oxton & Channelkirk £18,000
Parish of Stow £18,000

Each community council area has its own community panel to decide how funds should be allocated locally.

Heriot also receives funding from the SSE Carcant Community Fund and the Parish of Stow also receives funding from EDF Longpark Community Fund.

Purpose
The Community Benefit Funds will provide grants to support charitable activities that:

  • Enhance quality of life for local residents.
  • Contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities.
  • Promote community spirit and encourage community activity.

Grant requests to support a wide range of costs and activities will be considered, for example, equipment costs, running costs for local groups, staff or sessional worker costs, consultations, maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities etc.

Heriot application form and guidelines

Oxton and Channelkirk Advisory Panel has two grant application forms- Small Grants (£250 - £3,000) and Main Grants (£3,000 to £10,000).If you would like to apply for more than £10,000 please contact Ros Houldsworth on 0131 524 0340.

Parish of Stow Advisory Panel has two application forms - Small Grants £250-£3,000) and Main Grants (£3,000 to £10,000).  For amounts over £10,000, please complete the Large Grant Enquiry Form.
