New RBS fund for local communities announced

Fri 19 Aug 2011

RBS has recently launched Community Force - a new initiative to support local charities, organisations and groups to raise publicity for their work and attract volunteers. The Programme provides the opportunity to receive funding through their Community Force awards.

RBS has divided the UK into 28 areas and will be offering three local projects the chance to win awards of £6,000 in each area. Organisations and charities can apply for a Community Force award at www.rbs.com/community between 25th July and 4th September 2011. An online public vote will then decide on the three organisations to each receive a £6,000 award, ensuring the projects which are recognised are those local people who they feel will benefit the community most.

The new Community Force initiative promises also to offer greater visibility and the opportunity to attract volunteers from their local area. NatWest/RBS staff will be getting involved by volunteering in a number of projects.
