Are you interested in the supporting Scotland’s good causes? Do you have two to three hours a week to spare? The Scottish Community Foundation is looking for a team of volunteer assessors to support its grant-making activities.

The Scottish Community Foundation is one of Scotland’s busiest grant-makers. Every year, it distributes approximately £4M on behalf of its clients to exceptional charities and projects across the country. To help the Foundation make the best awards, it’s looking for team of dedicated volunteers across the country to help assess applications. Volunteers can work from home, with any expenses reimbursed.

Nick Addington, Head of Philanthropy Services for the Foundation, said: “The Foundation has worked with volunteer assessors since 1996. We find that our applicants – who are often volunteers - respond well to other people who are giving their time to a good cause.

“We have a staff team based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, so having assessors based throughout Scotland keeps us informed about the needs of communities from the Highlands and Islands to the Borders.”

In return, the Foundation will provide training; link volunteers to a network of like-minded people; and create opportunities for assessors to visit projects funded by its clients through the Foundation’s grants programmes.
