Introducing Scottish Community Foundation Express Grants
Mon 12 Jan 2009
Express Grants are for community groups based in Scotland looking for funding of up to £2,000.
As the name suggests, Express Grants have a straightforward application process, and a short turnaround time, meaning that within six weeks, applicants will know if they’ve been successful.
For those familiar with our grants programmes, Express Grants replace the Small Grants programme. Small Grants were introduced in 1998 to support small community groups who only needed small amounts to make big differences in their communities. In order to maintain this support, the Foundation has increased the value of Express Grants to £2,000 to reflect the increased cost of living.
To find out more about Express Grants, please use the following link to the Express Grants application and guidance notes.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no deadlines for Express or Main Grant applications to the Women’s Fund and Community Grants programmes. We plan to introduce a revised application form for Express Grants, which will be available from this website during April. Meanwhile, we will continue to accept applications on the old form (still available for download) until the end of April. Note that the programme will remain open thoughout the year. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us 0141 225 6670.
We’ve made a couple of other changes to our Scotland-wide grants programmes. All applicants (including those applying for an Express Grant) must now send us a copy of their constitution and accounts with their application form. We’re also making it a requirement for groups to have the accounts they produce independently verified. You'll find more information about this in the Preparing Your Accounts section.
If you would like any additional information, please see our Apply for a Grant section, or call our Grants Team on 0141 225 6670.
