Make a Splash! With new grants for arts and crafts activities

Mon 9 Nov 2009

The Scottish Community Foundation is administering a new grants programme on behalf of Voluntary Arts Scotland called Make a Splash! Grants of £250 to £2,000 are available to small voluntary groups that want to try something new, to help even more people discover how good it feels to take part in arts and crafts activity.

Funding can be used to help pay for a wide range of things, including equipment, publicity, venue hire, staff time, volunteer training or materials. The main requirement is that the money helps create new opportunities for more people to actively participate in creative activities and to keep them involved. A total of £210,000 is available and around 200 grants are expected to be awarded over 3 years up to 2012.

Make a Splash! is part of a wider programme of activity, People Making Waves, which aims to connect people to the spirit and values of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games through volunteering and being active within their community. People Making Waves is part of The Scottish Project funded by Legacy Trust UK and the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery Fund.

Applications should be made using the Make a Splash! application form, which is available to download from the Make a Splash! website.
