Evaluation

Evaluation is about collecting information related to what you do and the people you work with and using it to make judgements about your project; reflecting on the difference you’re making, what works and what doesn’t. This can help demonstrate the impact you make, but it is also about using that information to make changes and improvements.

Evaluation helps your organisation learn, and – if shared with others, including funders – it can help others learn, too.

We want to support the organisations we fund to learn from their experience and for them to share that learning with us. In turn, we hope to share more widely what we learn about Scotland’s communities and how to strengthen them.

Evaluation Declaration

As members of the Scotland Funders’ Forum, we have signed up to the Forum’s Evaluation Declaration. The Declaration states that evaluation should be:

  • Valuable
  • Relevant
  • Proportionate
  • Supported
  • Looking from inside and outside

You can download the Evaluation Declaration below.
