Community Investment programme

In 2007 we awarded grants of approximately £50K each over two years to eight community groups and charities to support activities relating to one or more of three Investment Areas:

Building enterprising communities

Supporting creative and innovative ideas that develop local talents, assets and resources for community benefit.

Connecting generations

Helping people develop sustainable relationships that span generations, enabling all age groups to participate in and contribute to community life.

Repositioning Organisations

Assisting established organisations to evolve in order to best reflect the changing needs of their communities.

These themes were selected to reflect a strategic approach to achieving the Foundation's vision of strong, successful communities.

During the life of these grants we will be working closely with the funded groups, supporting them in their efforts to develop their organisations and strengthen their communities. We are also keen to ensure that we maximise opportunities to learn from these projects – for the benefit of the funded groups and their communities, ourselves as a funder, and also the wider voluntary sector in Scotland. In due course we will provide updates on progress and achievements on this website.

Although we plan to make other Community Investment grants in future, we will not be calling for new proposals until further notice.
