Connecting Generations

The Foundation has identified the breakdown of relationships between different generations as one of the barriers to building stronger communities

The Foundation and the Scottish Centre for Intergenerational Practice collaborated in 2008 to fund a range of exciting and innovative projects that will help to build relationships between people of different generations in local communities.

From 68 applications received, 13 awards totalling over £50,000 were approved, to support projects in both cities and rural areas, from South Ayrshire to the Western Isles. A list of funded projects can be downloaded from this page.

Strengthening relationships between generations remains a key interest for the Foundation and we continue to welcome applications for intergenerational projects to our open programmes such as Community Grants.
